A Rubellite is a variety of elbaite tourmaline. Derived from the Latin word ‘Rubellus’, meaning ‘reddish’. It comes in saturated dark pink to deep red with pinches of purple hues, ranging from medium to dark tones. In the olden days, Rubellite was often mistaken for Ruby for many centuries due to their similarity in colour.
